Checkout Content controls the words, defaults, and customer form behavior in checkout. Use it when checkout needs client-specific copy, region handling, address suggestions, or mobile layout adjustments.
Find this module in Shopify Stores > Edit Checkout > Checkout.
This module changes how checkout reads and behaves for the customer. It does not create shipping methods, products, payment methods, or tracking scripts.
You will set: Language selectorThe language and locale checkout should use for built-in labels, wallet rendering, and payment context.Example: Choose a US English locale for US campaigns, or a localized European locale for regional campaigns.
Continue shopping URL
You will set: URL fieldWhere the order confirmation page sends customers when they click Continue shopping. If blank, customers return to the store website.Example: Send customers to a collection page after purchase.
Pay button text
You will set: Text fieldThe main payment button label. Keep it short so it fits on mobile and stays clear at the moment of purchase.Example:Pay now, Complete order, or Start trial.
Contact heading
You will set: Text fieldThe heading above the email and phone section.Example:Contact information.
Delivery heading
You will set: Text fieldThe heading above the delivery or billing address form.Example:Shipping address for physical goods or Billing address for digital checkout.
Payment heading
You will set: Text fieldThe heading above payment methods.
Payment subheading
You will set: Long text fieldShort helper text near payment methods. Use it for reassurance about secure payment, billing timing, or accepted methods.Example:All transactions are secure and encrypted.
Express checkout divider
You will set: Text fieldThe divider text between express checkout buttons and the standard form.Example:Or continue with card.
Email updates label
You will set: Long text fieldThe label for the marketing or email updates checkbox. Keep consent wording clear and aligned with the client policy.
Policy notice
You will set: Long text fieldShort policy or acknowledgement text shown near the payment button.Note: Use Footer Links for full policy pages instead of pasting long legal text here.
Email updates checked by default
You will set: On/off switchWhether the email updates checkbox starts checked.Note: Only enable this when the client has confirmed the right consent basis.
Hide email updates checkbox
You will set: On/off switchRemoves the email updates checkbox from checkout.
Phone number optional
You will set: On/off switchAllows customers to complete checkout without a phone number.
Show phone country flags
You will set: On/off switchShows country flags in the phone country selector.
Address line 2 open by default
You will set: On/off switchKeeps the apartment, suite, or second address line visible without the customer expanding it.
Google Places autocomplete
You will set: On/off switchSuggests addresses while customers type in the checkout shipping form. A Google Places API key is required when autocomplete is enabled for a store for the first time.Note: Stores already using Paysight’s shared key can leave the per-store key blank unless they want to replace it.
Google Places API key
You will set: Password fieldThe store-specific Google Cloud Places API key used by address autocomplete. Restrict the key to the checkout domain before saving it. When a key is already stored, the editor shows only its last four characters; enter a new key only when replacing it.
Mobile summary above pay button
You will set: On/off switchShows an extra order summary near the payment button on mobile.
Open mobile order summary by default
You will set: On/off switchStarts the mobile order summary expanded when customers land on checkout.
Wait for address before showing shipping
You will set: On/off switchKeeps shipping methods hidden until enough address information is entered. This is useful when shipping choices depend on country or address rules.
Default country
You will set: Country selectorThe country selected by default when checkout opens. Customers can still change it unless the country list is restricted.
Allowed countries
You will set: Country listRestricts checkout to selected countries only. Use this only when the client cannot sell or ship elsewhere.Example: Allow only the United States and Canada for a North America-only campaign.
Priority countries
You will set: Country listPins commonly used countries at the top of the country selector without blocking other countries.
Reserve timer
You will set: On/off switchShows or hides the countdown banner at the top of checkout.
Reserve timer message
You will set: Text fieldText shown before the countdown.Example:Order reserved for the next.
Countdown duration
You will set: Number fieldHow long the reserve timer runs. Use minutes/seconds in the editor if available; otherwise confirm the displayed value before saving.
Set Default country to the primary market, add Priority countries for common markets, and use Allowed countries only when other countries must be blocked.
Enable Google Places autocomplete, add a domain-restricted API key when required, then test suggestions with a complete address in the store’s primary country.
Enable Mobile summary above pay button and decide whether the summary should start open by default. Preview on a phone-sized screen.
